Why now?

The problem
Real estate transactions operate on systems built for the past. Initially there was a need for a centralized place where you could find properties for sale online and those listing sites are still dominating the market. They never catered the entire home purchase journey in a modern way leaving us with the reality of having to go through hoops and loops just to initiate and complete the biggest and most important transaction of our lives.
How did we get here?
In the 1970s/2000s Real Estate goes digital (sort of). The MLS (Multiple Listing Service) emerged (in the US), helping agents share listings. Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac in the U.S. fueled the mortgage industry, making loans easier to get.
By the 2000s, property listings moved online (Zillow, Rightmove, Funda, etc.).
And note that these platforms all are a simple evolution of the classified ads in newspapers that just went online. Extreme verticalization then kicked in creating a situation where there's not a single platform where you handle your transaction from start to finish.
Then the 2008 housing crisis exposed some of the flaws in the market where predatory lending practices and poor mortgage regulations led to a global financial crash. People lost their homes, exposing a broken system where banks controlled too much of the market.
Which brings us to today’s market.
An expensive, outdated, inefficient & overly complex ecosystem rules the industry and is making homeownership harder and harder to attain. Home prices have skyrocketed, locking many out of ownership.
The transaction process remains slow, fragmented, manual, intransparent and overly bureaucratic.
Real estate agents are forced to use outdated, restrictive platforms, paying high fees for little value. Buyers struggle with affordability, while sellers deal with opaque negotiations and long delays as an outsider instead of being part of the transaction.
