Picture this: As the first light of dawn spills across your private hilltop ridge, you step onto the wide porch with a steaming mug of coffee, the crisp Wyoming air filling your lungs. Below, a small herd of elk moves quietly through the sagebrush, pausing to graze as the Gros Ventre Mountains and Wyoming Range rise dramatically against the sky. Moose occasionally wander into view, deer linger near the aspens, and the silence is so complete you can hear your own heartbeat. This isn't a fleeting vacation snapshot—it's the everyday reality waiting for you at 62 Skyline Drive, a true sanctuary where nature isn't just scenery: it's your closest neighbor, your morning ritual, your source of renewal. Nestled on 8.32 pristine acres in the heart of Hoback Ranches—a thoughtfully designed 6,500-acre rural community established in 1973 with a deep commitment to partnering with nature, this custom log home, hand-built in 2015 by the original owner with skilled local craftsmen, borders the vast Bridger-Teton National Forest. Here, your backyard extends seamlessly into millions of acres of public lands - just step out your door and ride your horse for miles, hike to hidden meadows, cast a line in nearby streams, hunt in season, or snowmobile through powder-blanketed valleys. The freedom is immediate and intoxicating, the kind that redefines what "home" can mean. Step inside to a warm embrace of rustic luxury designed for real living and accessible comfort. The main level (~1,000 sq ft) flows openly with vaulted ceilings soaring overhead and floor-to-ceiling windows that dissolve the boundary between indoors and out. Sunlight pours in across circle-sawn heart pine floors, warming the skip-peeled logs that tell the story of authentic mountain craftsmanship. A grand stone fireplace anchors the great room, perfect for fires on chilly evenings when the family gathers to share stories or simply soak in the quiet. The well-appointed kitchen, recently refreshed with a new dishwasher and new stove, makes everyday meals effortless whether you're whipping up breakfast before a day on the trails or hosting friends for a casual dinner with those unbeatable views as your backdrop. The home's thoughtful layout delivers flexibility that fits modern lifestyles, including handicap-accessible features for ease and inclusivity. Three en-suite bedrooms offer privacy and comfort for everyone, while two separate living areas let family members spread out, teens in one space with games or movies, adults in another for conversation by the fire, or guests enjoying their own retreat. A dedicated craft room provides a quiet nook for hobbies, sewing, painting, or even a home office with inspiration right outside the window. The upper level (~342 sq ft) adds cozy additional space, perhaps for a reading loft or overflow sleeping. Downstairs, the ~1,000 sq ft walk-out lower level is wheelchair-friendly with wide doorways, smooth transitions, and an installed electric stair chair for safe, convenient access between levels making the entire home welcoming for multi-generational families, guests with mobility needs, or anyone planning for long-term comfort and independence. This home arrives fully ready for your life to begin. It's furnished in high-quality, authentic mountain style pieces chosen to complement the log aesthetic with comfort and timeless appeal. The 2023 hot tub on the deck invites nightly rituals: sinking in under a blanket of stars, steam rising as the Milky Way stretches overhead, perhaps with wildlife silhouettes moving in the distance. Practical outdoor features support year-round enjoyment: a horse corral ready for your equine companions with direct access to the National Forest lands, a combination shop/hay shed ideal for woodworking projects, storing tack, or organizing gear, a ShelterLogic carport providing extra covered parking (currently home to a snow-removal tractor for effortless winter access), and a 750 sq ft garage for vehicles and toys. The location strikes the perfect balance between profound seclusion and welcome convenience. Just 50 minutes through the breathtaking Hoback River Canyon lies Jackson Hole world-class skiing at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, fine dining, boutique shopping, top-tier medical care, and vibrant cultural events. A similar drive in the other direction brings you to Pinedale, with its own White Pine Ski Area, legendary fishing waters, groceries, restaurants, and small-town charm. Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are within reach for unforgettable day trips, geysers, wildlife safaris, alpine lakes, all without the hassle of long commutes. Closer to home, the tiny town of Bondurant fosters a genuine sense of belonging. This rural gem offers residents the opportunity to enjoy casual gatherings at places like the Elkhorn Bar and Restaurant or the Branding Iron Cafe, an annual community-wide bar b que (an 82-year tradition), seasonal church services, book club, yoga sessions, and simple pleasures like summer markets or horseback rides. With many families living in Hoback Ranches year-round and many others just living there seasonally, the community has evolved from summer getaways to full-time havens - proof that this lifestyle isn't just sustainable; it's deeply rewarding. Whether you envision this as your peaceful primary residence, waking to wildlife, breathing fresh mountain air, raising kids or grandkids amid nature or as a cherished second home that gradually becomes your forever place, 62 Skyline Drive offers the Wyoming dream in its purest form: breathtaking 360-degree views, wildlife viewing, endless recreation, family connection, handicap accessibility, and the quiet joy of living lightly on the land.
