He was a diplomat at the U.S. Department of State for 22 years, serving in Bulgaria, Japan, Washington, D.C., and New York City, where he was a lead negotiator on economic, development, and environmental issues for the U.S. at the United Nations. Jason speaks Japanese and Bulgarian.Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, he graduated magna cum laude with a bachelors degree in East Asian studies from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Hawaii. But his heart was in the Bay Area, so when his U.N. assignment at the U.N. in New York concluded, Jason and his husband, Ivo, moved to Berkeley, California.Real estate runs in Jasons family: His grandfather, father, stepmother, and sister-in-law are all agents. Jason is a zealous advocate for his clients, and he enjoys helping them through what can be a complex and unfamiliar process. For their part, clients appreciate his competence and precision and for Jason, a collegial approach to building diplomatic solutions and closing deals comes naturally.Jason takes his spare time seriously, too. He is a certified scholar of French, Italian, and Spanish wines and enjoys travel, urban gardening, cooking, opera, and classical music.
