How does solar work for you? The leased solar power system makes about 5,800 kilowatt hours for the homeowners to consume annually, which is about 483 kilowatt hours a month. Beginning on 11/1/17 the lease payment will be $47.27 plus tax but will go up about a $1.75 (or so 2.9% to be exact) every year until the lease term is complete. That puts the current price per each Kilowatt hour at 0.1021 cents each. Trico Electric will give customers the price of $0.1177 cents for the first 800 kilowatts but could go as high as $0.1277 cents, depending on the homeowners consumption. The solar lease, which means the homeowner agrees to pay a fixed monthly "rent" or lease payment, is calculated using the estimated amount of electricity the system will produce, in exchange for the right to use the solar energy system. The lease agreement escalator clause is less than the amount TRICO electric company may raise electricity rates annually-this could be from 4-6%. So you see putting no money down and leasing solar panels is the best deal for you and your family.
